business education major provides hands-on, cutting-edge courses in the areas of business, 技术, 市场营销, accounting and economics while providing the core principles of effective education. This major is designed to prepare students to teach at the secondary level (grades 9-12). 的 business education major is recognized nationally and by the state as an outstanding business education program - see for yourself!

At the high school level, teachers are trained to educate students on more specialized content, such as the theories of business, 市场营销, accounting and 技术. At the middle school level, teachers focus on the basics of keyboarding, computer applications, introduction to business and money management.

What Can I Do With a Major in Business Education?

Profession-Based Learning Experiences

Practicum courses are "clinical hours" in where students observe, teach and assist professional teachers at the high school level. Northwest students begin practicum courses as freshman.

During their senior year, students observe teachers and professionals, prepare lesson plans and teach consecutive lessons for a semester-long placement.

is a national business teacher education honor society that recognizes students with high scholastic ability in business education. Eligibility requirements include interest in becoming a business educator; completion of three trimesters of college courses, including at least 15 hours in business or education subjects; and a 3.0 GPA in business and education courses.
